A Vision for Person County |

|
As a native of Person County, I have grown very concerned about the economic state of our county. The following are unacceptable to me:
The Person County Commissioners must work tirelessly to stop these trends. Good leadership requires a clear vision of what needs to be accomplished. Good leaders should also always have in mind the best interests of the people they represent. I don’t think you can reverse the above trends through property tax increases, wasteful spending and lack of vision. I believe:
· We need leadership that will work constantly for the people by attracting new businesses and industries, both large and small that will create new jobs and provide a brighter future for all our citizens. · We need tax cuts and a stronger economic focus to stimulate our economy. · An annual strategic plan developed by our citizens should serve as a guide for new proposals. · This county needs leadership that will provide our children and teachers with the best tools available, so that the quality of our education will rise above that of any other county in the state. · We need to protect our environment, clean our roadsides, and preserve our heritage and culture. · We need leadership that isn’t afraid to say “No” to proposals that do not coincide with the county’s priorities. · All county business should always be conducted in full view of the public and the media. · A good leader should treat the position of County Commissioner as a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week job. · Each member of the board of commissioners should always seek out the opinions of fellow residents and should constantly be thinking of new ideas that could benefit the county and the taxpayers. As your County Commissioner, I will work hard to make sure that your county’s priorities are addressed. I will propose new tax cuts and work to eliminate wasteful spending. I will give the county’s economic development the full attention that it so desperately needs and work closely with our state and federal representatives to ensure that Person County gets its fair share. We have been overlooked for too long and it is time to make our voices and concerns heard. This county has unlimited economic potential, we just need the leadership and vision to unlock it.
If this is your Vision also, LET'S GET IT DONE! On November 4th, I need your vote to be your next County Commissioner. |
